From the onion soup and fresh oysters to any entree on the menu you can not go wrong stopping in to Django. The setting is more European which is a very nice change from the "americanized" version of the same. So haveing lived in Europe for many years it was a nice reminder.

My husband and I ate here on a Saturday night prior to attending a show at the Civic Center. We both had beers, plus the crab cake appetizers. He has the braised lamb shank and I had sea scallops.

The food was excellent- especially the crab cakes, they were to die for. We both said that after a beer, the great bread they brought out, and the crab cakes, we could have gone to the show satisfied. But, we soldiered on!

His lamb shank was good, not the best ever, and the scallops were great. A+ on the mashed potatoes and broccoli too.

The service was quite fast for a packed house and our server (Mike I think?) Seemed knowledgeable and friendly.

The only thing that bugged a bit was how noisy it was. It was very full (even at 5:30!) And the tables were so close together. I would definitely go back for the food, but not for a romantic, private atmosphere.

Dined here twice with work colleagues for business meetings. Food is great, well prepared, and service is timely and pleasant. Several private dining areas make it possible to hold business functions without being interrupted by the bar area nearby.

While the food quality is very good, their prices are significant as well. A group of a dozen patrons with a small bar tab quickly racked up over $600 with appetizers and entrees.

We love this restaurant in the Fort Des Moines Hotel. The food is good, well-presented, and reasonably priced. The chef is inventive, and the waitstaff is excellent. The tables are a bit cramped, but you can enjoy what others are eating as well this way! Spend some time at the bar, watching the bartender, or the prep staff.

Had supper with some colleagues and was impressed. Had a KC micro brew at the recommendation of Pete who was tending bar. We are dined at the bar and met some nice locals. The food was fantastic. Had the salmon and it was terrific. My colleagues had the halibut and pizza and both were pleased. We finished the the meal off with an expresso martini which was a solid 10. Will repeat!!
