Nice variety and creativity on the menu with wide ranging flavors and combinations. Be prepared to experience unique combinations. The staff have an amazing knowledge of the food that is being prepared and can explain the dishes thoughtfully as well as wine pairings. I felt a little cramped in the small chairs, but the next course made it worth it. Top 3 restaurant in Des Moines.

Definitely a place for Foodies! (NOT a big food, steak and potato place!) The Chef partner Sean Wilson is currently a James Beard Award nominee and the restaurant deserves to have a Michelin star. Very creative, gourmet food here in smaller serving sizes so you can enjoy eating in courses without being miserably stuffed. They serve lunch Monday-Friday and dinner Wednesday through Saturday. On the second Saturday of each month, they have an amazing deal called "Second Saturday Suppers" that is 10 courses per couple for $80. Each course is served on one plate (or bowl) per couple, so you share. For an extra fee you can have wine paired with each course by the Sommelier partner Zach. The pairings we had were spot on! The wine list here is an adventure in it's self, as it contains all lesser known varietals (i.e. no Chardonnay or Cabs). Great fun if you are up for a culinary adventure and believe that dining is an experience! Do make a reservation and if it's later in the evening and there is a delay for a table, enjoy the new(er) bar with many fun house-infused cocktails! Overall, amazing creativity, quality and service!

The food is horrible and very small amount com paired to price range and on top of that being served late and the waiters are lousy and less knowledgeable about the menu.me and my husband went for valentine day dinner after seeing the reviews but alas to my utter disappointment we left the restaurant by skipping the main course as the services were too late and on top of that after placing the order the waiter came and told us that they won't be able to serve the ordered main course dish because they ran out of SALMON SUPPLY !on top of that they took another order but the waiter took 1hour to serve and after asking the waiter repeatedly we finally decided to leave!even while paying the waiter did not apologize and did not even bothered!this restaurant should get 1 star seeing the service and the food!disgusting people what they are thinking by opening an restaurant where they can't serve proper food to the customer!

What a great restaurant . As a visitor to the US it was so refreshing to find a restaurant where the potions didn't over face you and where the food had great flavours!
I visited with a group of friends and were greeted by knowledgeable staff and a fantastic menu- full of innovative flavours and wine pairings!
I strongly recommend this great restaurant to anyone wanting something alittle different from the norm.
Thank you for a lovely experience.

I ate here this evening with six colleagues. We were all left speechless at the quality, flair and value offered by this restaurant. Suffice it to say that 1) if this were in a city that the Michelin people bother to visit it would have at least one star and quite possibly two, 2) you can order absolutely anything from the menu - or leave the choice to the chef with their "Submit" option - in the total confidence that it will be not only delicious but inspired as well, and 3) if this were in a "major" city, the prices would be at least double. If a city can be judged by the quality of its restaurants, then Des Moines is as "major" as anyone could wish.
Issues? Perhaps their wine list could expand upward. But the three bottles we tried were all excellent, great value and matched perfectly with the food.
I would strongly recommend reserving, and get here quick before the prices start reflecting the quality of what's on offer.
