You follow a single lane into the parks and the treat at the end is the waterfall. You can walk to the top or take trails and go to the very top. It is always a good photo op.

We were there on a 100 degree day, and when we walked toward the springs, it felt like we were entering an air conditioned room. There are a few picnic tables. We were there twice during our trip at lunchtime (both week days) and the tables were available. The water flow is slightly down due to the lack of rain, but the clear cold water is still plentiful. You can do a conservative walk up on the newly restored railed stairway to the left of the falls or a more daring ascent to the right. Then there is a wooded area to the right where you can hike. It's a restorative experience.

We love the short trek up the side of the springs to the top. There are stairs for those not quite so daring

Dunning Springs is a beautiful place, with a lovely waterfall and babbling stream all fed by icy cold underground streams. It is a lovely place to stop for a picnic, or if you'd just like to cool off on a hot day.

Scrambling up to the spring's source requires some effort and careful placement of the feet. It's fun, though, and the water is icy cold on a hot day. The kids had fun building dams across the stream. Lovely setting, great for picnics.
