“Great Overnight Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2007

We had a great overnight stay here on our first night of a 16 day adventure. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was great. We got a great rate by booking through the hotel website directly.

I chose this hotel after reading all of the reviews for Davenport on Trip Advisor and really was not disappointed. We were attending a concert in downtown Davenport and wanted somewhere reasonably priced to stay that wasnt too far from downtown, and this worked. Its a pretty quick drive to the river, about 5 minutes and basically side roads. The hotel was a Hampton Inn before so the layout is pretty much like the other Hampton Inn's that we have stayed in. The rooms were very clean, no complaints at all.

Stayed here on a cross country drive. Had read that it was previously a Hampton Inn so had some higher expectations. There are remnants of Hampton Inn all around the hotel but you can clearly tell that it is no longer a Hampton Inn. The bed & bath linens are definately LaQuinta. Some of the furniture was a bit dinged up. My one compalint is that they do not offer HBO in the rooms. This was made up though with over 50 cable channels to select from however.

Definately an OK hotel but don't think you're getting a Hampton Inn for a La Quinta price.

Also this hotel is pet friendly and had no trouble with my 2 cats on this trip.

Came here for a conference and had a mixed experienced with this hotel. Overall, I rate the room quality 4.5/5. Carpets were clean to walk barefoot, bed is perfect, etc. Two minor issues I had, the loveseat is soiled in one corner, and the massager setting on the showerhead doesn't work properly. Neither of which I used. My room looks just like the candid photos posted earlier. There's no mini-frig or microwave in the room even though there was clearly space for both.

Front service was courteous and nice. Housekeeping was fine and properly refreshed the room.

There is one major problem for those who require internet access. Perhaps it's due to the lousy internet connection or the location of my room (far end from the center hub of the hotel), my wireless signal was either 0 or 1 bar strength. Very weak signal. As a result, I was forced to come to lobby and use their computer for access. Internet access on their computer was sporadic, speeds were fine at times and other times, slower than dialup. No matter, I was able to access what I needed and print out several documents.

Those who need to exercise will be disappointed. The fitness room is a joke. Only aerobic equipment available. 1 high end treadmill, 1 exercise bike, and 1 old style stair climber. 1 doctor scale, and 1 20" TV. The fitness room looks like your typical fitness room in a house where nobody uses the room. Clearly needs to be updated. Not much comment for the pool. Pool was closed, and I didn't have my trunks anyways. It did looked nice and clean though.

The free continental breakfast gave me a good idea what the locals prefer. Not a lot of healthy food selection available. Fruits only consisted of apples and bananas. Hot oatmeal and self-make waffles are available. Biscuits, bagels, pastries, muffins, toast, hard boiled eggs, and 3 types of cereal.

As previously mentioned, this was a Hampton's Inn before it was bought out. Well, this is my 1st stay at a La Quinta, it's 80% quality of a Hampton Inn. Considering the price and proximity to my conference, I would stay here again.

After a terrific concert in the Quad Cities, we came back to our previously booked suite at La Quinta. Upon entering, there is a tiled kitchen area, with full size fridge, cubboards stocked w/ plates, cups, and REAL mugs! Nice dining room table, and great carpeted living room,w/ desk, dark wood entertainment center, sofa sleeper, and chair w'ottoman. End of mirrored hall, angled doors to nice size bedroom. King size (very comfortable bed), entertainment center, and a nice surprise was a vanity w/ sink and full mirror in room. 3rd room-(bathroom), one step up to , was a GREAT sized whirpool (for 2), and separate sink/ shower if needed. If anything could be added to this suite, I would say color. Carpet, fabrics, bedspread were nice, but I think silk flower arrangements, or a wall with some color, might add that touch. Drapes were neutral plaid, short, w/sheers, felt private, but at night need drapes that will pull completely shut. Great continental breakfast, with fresh waffles, sausage and biscuits, fruit, muffins......great! Overall, a wonderful stay, with added comforts. Enjoy!! Sterling, Il.

My husband & I decided for our anniversery, to get away from it all for the whole weekend so we booked the MOST expensive Spa room they had.
The room was okay when we got there, one broken chair that we reported to the staff (so we wouldn't be blamed) but the room was tidy.
The Spa itself was huge but the hot & cold knobs were so loose that they litterally spun 360 degrees & it took quite a bit of a "magic" touch to get them to turn off again! The spigot was also not "seated" so it also spun too far in all directions.
The next morning (2nd day) we went out for 1 1/2 hours from 10:30 AM to Noon. When we arrived back at our room, we were shocked that the room had not been touched by the staff at ALL.
When we went out later again that same afternoon, my husband told the desk lady, Tabitha, that our room must have been "missed" by the staff because no one tidied our room. She quite indignantly "informed" my husband that "most of the cleaning staff had already left for the day but she'd see what could be done..."
When we got back from our afternoon outting, we got 2 new towels in the bathroom & new plastic bags for our trash cans and that was it.
The bed was unmade (I don't care if they didn't change the sheets), the spa was not cleaned, toothpaste was in the sink, no new coffee for the machine in the room, coffee pot still had some coffee in it, no new drinking cups, ash trays were not cleaned, floor was not vacuumed nor swept, nothing was touched at all.
By the time we got back we had to speak with the night manager (prince of a guy really) & he handled everything extremely well with what he could do considering all of the cleaning staff were long gone by that point.
We still paid the "normal" price for our stay. Our advice, if you have to stay at this Inn, make it a one nighter only, otherwise you are on your own!

I've stayed at LaQuinta(Airport) just a few miles from this motel and the staff at the Airport location seems much more professional. Uniforms, not T-shirts and knowing how to use the computer program. The price was good. The free breakfast was good but they had a full house and ran out of most of the food. The outside doors had a sign saying they would be locked at all times but never were. Maybe the moetl was short staffed for the weekend because we had to call for towels at the pool. And at the time there were only a few people in there. During the late night hours they turn the A/C off in the hall and it was very hot when we came out of our rooms after showering at 7:00am the next morning. I heard people talking about that. It would be nice to have room refrigerators. People go out to eat and do not have anywhere to put left overs. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were very quiet.
