Great place to stay in the Quad Cities area. Will certainly go back. Friendly staff and clean, spacious rooms. Don't miss the Blackhawk if you are in Davenport.

Don't miss the awesome pool and veranda on the 3rd floor (I think) and the subterranean bowling alley is tops.

A+ for the Blackhawk.

The owners of this property obviously spent a TON of money and updating this property. Over a couple of visits I have had a chance to stay in different rooms and interact with staff. Staff at name brand hotels can learn something from the helpful and happy staff at this hotel. While at the chain hotels you can sometimes find a room this nice, and staff can be good, they can also sometimes be aloof. It isn't that the staff lacks professionalism here, it is that they just aren't snooty at all. And so deservingly proud of the property. It is worth paying an extra 25 bucks to stay this hotel.

Dear MJCarroll,
We are honored by all of your wonderful praise of our staff and property. We appreciate all of your observations, and are over the moon that our staff was able to make such a great impression on you. Thank you for your continued patronage and we are looking forward to seeing you again very soon. Our owners certainly did put a great amount of time and expenses on making our property amazing, But all of these great improvements would prove meaningless without a great support staff to carry out the culture and hospitality we hope to bring to each and every Hotel Blackhawk patron. Thank you again!
Sincerely,

I only stayed one night but it was great. I've lived in the Quad Cities before moving to Chicago and I was surprised to find a truly modern classy place. Chicago worthy. The rooms were modern and maticulously kept. Every area was gorgeous, above-and-beyond my expectations. It was pricey for the area but well worth it. The pool is something like 5 stories up, enclosed with windows, overlooking downtown. A large hot tub. A terrace right off the pool area for smokers and just a romantic place to relax after a nice swim. A diamond in the rough. I am definitely staying here again. Even the parking lot was above and beyond. Loved the flaming water fountain. You won't get all these amenities for this price in Chicago. Bravo.

Room Tip: We chose a room overlooking the river. It was a perfect choice.

I use tripadvisor a great deal to do research on places to stay. Up until now I have not taken the time to write a review. My girlfriend and were driving back to Nebraska from Vermont and based on our travel times we thought Davenport would be a good place to stay the night. I jumped on priceline and put a bid in on a 3+ star hotel and the bid was accepted by the Hotel Blackhawk.

I was at first apprehensive since the hotel was not a chain or a facility that I had heard of. After checking out the reviews here on tripadvisor we got excited about staying with them.

After 12 hours of driving for the day we arrived in Davenport and there was a fair amount of construction going on that made us have to alter our route to the hotel. Upon arrival I would say the exterior of Blackhawk was "historic" in others eyes some would say the place looked tired. Once you step in side you realized that everything has been modernized but still retains some of its historic charm.

The woman at the front desk was super nice and we were able to upgrade to a suite. The suite was very nice and very clean. It actually had a full kitchen which we did not utilize but the set up of the suite made you feel like you were in a luxury apartment. The bedroom was great and the bed/pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was also nice and featured a television in the mirror. Yes, it was a gadget but it was the attention to detail that made it a cool thing.

After enjoying the pool and hot tub we showered and walked to an Italian place close by. My suggestion is you skip this place. I cannot recall the name but through anyones eyes this place was tired and the food was pretty bad. We were beat, thirsty and hungry so we did not dwell on our "Restaurant Impossible" experience. Chef Ramsay would have went off for sure!!

In the basement of the Blackhawk there is a hip bar and bowling alley so we enjoyed a couple drinks and a game. We both hit the fatique wall pretty quickly so we went back up to the bistro in the main lobby for another drink and a glass of wine to take to the room.

After a long day, the Hotel Blackhawk was an awesome surprise. I would strongly recommend the Blackhawk.

Dear John C.,
Thank you so much for your glowing review of your recent stay. It sounds like the both of you were ready for some relaxation after such a long drive and trip. Obviously you are very savy travelers. We find more and more guest doing top notch research before staying anywhere these days, which we think is excellent. Very rarely do people just pull off to the side of the road to rest as we use too. I am glad we were able to accomodate both of you after a full day of traveling.
I would like you to know we all really enjoyed your descriptions and interactions and can only hope to be able to serve you again in the future. Perhaps next time we can set up a couples massage from our full service salon to wash away those long hours on the road.
Thank you again for choosing us and allowing us to relieve some of your fatigue.

Wow, 5 star accommodation and service in a beautiful setting at a very reasonable rate. If you are looking for a hotel in Hannibal this is the one.

Out of 21 different hotels on a cross country tour some of them 5 star intercontinental etc this was the best. Lovely decor, great quality bedding and furnishing, very comfortable bed and friendly staff.

On check in we got a voucher for two free drinks in the bar, always expect this to be a catch but even though we went late at night when it was busy we got our choice of drink and free refills for my soft drink.

Loved the tv in the bathroom mirror and even the mini bar prices were good. So wanted to tuck into the Lindt chocolate but resisted.
