Was down there recently for an event. Haven't been there for a while, so it was interesting. I feel the merchants are trying to build up the area; it is quaint, some speciality stores, but could use more. Lagomarcino's candy and ice cream parlor is nice; a little high priced for the amount you get, but reminds you of old-fashioned parlor. Enjoyed the herb cellar and their selections. Parking can be a real problem. If you are in the Quad-City area, it is a nice side trip to take advantage of.

I was looking for more ambiance and more places open on a Saturday. Compared to a place like Galena, this area is not worth the visit.

The Christmas Walk is very nice. Bier Stube is a great little pub, but there are many others as well.

Isabel Blooms is our favorite of course, but running a very close second Lagomarcino's hot fudge sundae. Can't be beat
