Only stayed in town 1 night for a wedding. The girl at reception was very helpful. Breakfast was great in the morning - good selection. Would stay again if ever in the area.

I stayed in this hotel for almost a week while in the area for work. The staff was quite welcoming upon arrival. There were cookies at the desk every night, and breakfast was set up every morning at 6AM. The front desk offered a bottle of water when you left in the morning. If you ate dinner down in the lobby area the staff offered to find you plates and silverware. It was very convenient right off the exit from 80. Those are the items on the plus side.

On the negative side, the hotel could sorely use some updating. As you walked you could feel holes under the carpet, and previous carpets underneath the current carpet. The curtains in the room wouldn't close all the way so there was light shining in all night. The pool had algae on all of the signs inside it, and never opened at the published 6AM. And there was no clock in the pool area so you need to bring a phone if you want to know what time it is. The maid actually took (or threw out) a kickboard I brought with, on my third day there, so I had to swim without one for the last 3 days. Why she thought it shouldn't be in the room after that many days is beyond my comprehension.

If you value customer service you would like this hotel. If you want an updated hotel, it's not.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the back of the hotel, there was traffic noise in the front.

The hotel was conveniently located to the Iowa University. No exercise facility. Breakfast was the usual; cereal, waffles, fruit, pastry, bagels. Clean. We were there 4 nights for a sporting event so really didn't spend much time in the room. It was inexpensive and were satisfied with it.

Pass by this one. I don't know if Fairfield purchased an old property or built this one, but it's not good. One can hear conversations in more than just the rooms beside you. The floor not only squeaks but is uneven. They allow pets that cry and cry and cry. The breakfast is not up to standards that we have noticed in other Fairfield Inns.

Room Tip: I wouldn't stay here, but if you have no choice pick the end of the third floor.

She charge me for two rooms on my credit card. The bathroom look clean but had hair in the bathroom and people close in the dressers. The staff ask me do mind to clean it because they were sold out. I thought they should have came in & done it themselves
