The complete package at the highest standards. Impeccable attention to thoughtful detail (beds). Warm relaxing decor that is tasteful to this beautiful period home. Genuinely sincere hospitality for the unique needs of the traveler. Health conscious breakfast creations that arouse uncharted senses. Most importantly a caring host & hostess that strives to please each stay. True Midwestern charm that is therapeutic and worthy of a return visit.

After staying at this beautiful bed and breakfast in Cherokee Iowa for two nights and being treated like family we wanted to be adopted by Lyle and Sue Peterson. Their Christian hospitality and warmth is evident in every aspect of their home. They have painstakingly tended to every detail of refinishing and reviving the glory of this eccentric Victorian home. Staying here takes you back to an era when quality and craftsmanship were commonplace and pride in the end result proved integrity and ones skills.

Sue was available when we arrived and greeted us cheerfully. After a quick tour we were left to ourselves to unwind from the long drive. The tour led us upstairs to the rooms on the second floor and we were shown a cozy lounge/sitting room with a t.v available to all guests which would be nice for a family staying in multiple rooms. There was a kitchenette down the hall stocked with beverages, organic popcorn, teas and coffee and books which was a nice surprise.

We marveled at the beautiful decor and felt immediately at home. The room was lavishly decorated with rich bedding and curtains in calm colors, there was a remote control ceiling fan/light (home equipped with central air), armour cabinet with tv/dvd player, desk, and a bouquet of fresh flowers on the nightstand. The attached bathroom was full size and well stocked with towels and even organic shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap. The plumbing was new, hot water was nearly instant and the shower head was adjustable with different massaging options and good water pressure. Everything was clean and the bed linens fresh and high quality. We were interested to know what kind of mattress (temperpedic), since we are in the market for a new one at home. We were able to use our own key to our secure room which gave us peace of mind while we were away. When we came in late at night we were able to enter quietly and find our way upstairs with out finding light switches because they leave ambient lights on to welcome you home.

Bring your appetite with you when you plan to stay here. The extravagant breakfasts were arranged according to our preferred time. The first night we stayed we explained that we needed to leave early and they graciously accommodated us. The delicious aromas wafted upstairs as we dressed for the day tantalizing our senses. When we arrived downstairs we were amazed to find the entire table set with fine china from decades past. We enjoyed the company of the other guests, who had spent the weekend as well, and conversed with our hosts, getting to know them and hearing about the homes history and how they came to own it.

If you stay here you will not be disappointed. My only regret is that I am spoiling the surprise by divulging the details of our stay at Morning Glory bed and breakfast. Thank you Sue and Lyle!
