“Interesting Museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

Interesting museum if you're interested in history, and not just the history of the Czechs and Slovaks. Particularly enjoyed the Madeline Albright pin collection and the film about moving the museum after the flood. From the size of the building, I expected more exhibit space, but the exhibit spaces were well-designed. Without the Albright special exhibit, I wouldn't have felt like I got my money's worth, so see whether you're interested in the special exhibit before visiting unless you're particularly interested in the museum's ethnic history.

“Enjoyable and interesting visit”

Spent two hours browsing through the museum in June. Enjoyed the Madeleine Albright pin collection exhibit. Very interesting story about moving and expanding the museum building after the floods of 2008 in downtown Cedar Rapids.

“Enjoyable visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

We spent 3 hours enjoying the exhibits, especially the Madeline Albright pin display. It was a very quiet day, according to the staff, and they were very willing to talk and explain things to us, including how the museum was relocated. Too bad one, rather large, section was being re-set for another display and won't be open for a couple more weeks. It was rather eerie, however, to have the staff remarking on where the flood water came in 2008, and watch the movie on the relocation of the museum, and walk outside and have the adjacent Cedar River rise visibly during our visit!

Well laid out very visitor friendly exhibit. Ongoing effort by staff to bring excellent and timely traveling exhibits of great interest in many areas connected to Czech/Slovak history and Cedar Rapids
