“Depending what you get, delicious”
Reviewed May 12, 2014 via mobile

Three of us stopped on a business trip. Two of us got grilled cheese, chili, and a root beer float. Really tasty.. especially the chili as it was very well seasoned. The third got the pork dinner. Pork was good but potatoes and green beans were canned/bagged. Service made us giggle but the greasy food/chili was totally worth it.

Thank Gloria B

“Iowa Classic”
Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

While traveling cross country, I always try to eat regional favorites. Maid-rites are an Iowa thing so we HAD to stop and we were glad that we did! The owner is really friendly, the service was fast, the place is clean, and the walls are covered with info about the Cedar Rapids 2008 flood.

We, of course, had a maid-rite (chopped/seasoned ground beef on a fresh bun with pickle). It was exactly as advertised. We also ordered cheese curds, breaded cauliflower and tenderloins. While the curds & cauliflower were pretty standard, the tenderloins were very good and huge. Two people could definitely share one! I also got a 39 cent cupcake to go with was deliciously moist and chocolatey :-)

If you are in Cedar Rapids, don't miss this Iowa classic!

“Marion Maid Rite Rocks!!!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

While the Cedar Rapids Maid Rite offers good food, the Marion Maid Rite is a true adventure! Located in an old building in historic downtown Marion, IA, the owner's two daughters continue a family tradition that has spread over many decades. The food is always well prepared and the waitresses are engaging and helpful. The ambiance is most unique and the place is always kept clean and tidy. In summary, the food is great, the service is great, and the prices are very competitive!

“An Iowan Institution”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Do not go to Iowa without experiencing a Maid Rite loose meat sandwich!!! It's not fancy eating but must be experienced while in Iowa. This establishment displays photos of the disastrous flood of 2008. Cedar Rapids has come back nicely.
