“Excellent service. Excellent dining experience”

The Lighthouse Inn Supper Club
Ranked #113 of 413 Restaurants in Cedar Rapids
Cuisines: American
Description: The third oldest restaurant in the state of Iowa (2nd longest running ) sits just on the outskirts of Cedar Rapids and still offers a great supper club atmosphere for folks looking for a home cooked night out. The Lighthouse Inn Supper Club opened in the summer of 1912 attacting travelers from Higway 30. The restaurant operates out of the original building-although it has undergone remodeling over the last 100 years but it still maintains the trademark Lighthouse out front. The Lighthouse Inn boasts alot of history and infamous guest , including Al Capone and John Dillinger. The Lighthouse Inn is best known for our Barbeque Ribs. It's our secret sauce that will keep you wanting more. We still do things the Old fashioned way!

The Lighthouse has the best ribs in town...reasonably priced and fall of the bone.

“Lighthouse Inn Supper Club - find it, enjoy it.”
Reviewed November 11, 2011

Hidden on the eastern limits of Cedar Rapids, Iowa is an excellent restaurant nearly 100 years old with a history, as stated on the menu, "During prohibition it became a common stop for Chicago land mobsters looking to “beat the heat” until things cooled off back home in the Windy City." imagine if you will a dimly lit, booth filled, restaurant with jazz music filling the air and you'll get a sense of the Lighthouse.

The to-die-for menu item is the BBQ'ed ribs. Said to fall off the bone, they have never failed to impress. Succulent and prepared to perfection with an original sauce, that is neither too spicy nor too bland, but just right. Try them with the twice baked potato for a real treat. Although we've not made it past the ribs, if they are any indication the rest of the menu items will be just as flavorful and well prepared.

A traditional supper club with live music in a separate lounge. Music not so overpowering in the restaurant to cause a distraction if you are there just for the delicious and appropriately priced food.

The wait staff are attentive, courteous and friendly while anticipating your every need. Glasses were filled and emptied plates removed by bus staff as needed.

An excellent dining experience whether a romantic dinner for two or a gathering of many, the Lighthouse will not disappoint.
