I'm always on the lookout for a restaurant that serves something new AND is locally owned. Ginger Thai scores on both! We've been twice. I had the Pad See-Ew, which was very tasty, and the Thai Beef, also very good with a small, excellent cucumber salad. Just $8 for each. The freshly made spring rolls with carrot sauce are a must! The service was friendly and quick. Don't expect a fancy decor, as it is in the old Scratch Cupcakes store downtown just off Main Street, and it hasn't been upgraded much. They can add spices to most dishes on request. Carry-out is also available. You can see the menu at http://www.campusspecial.com/northern-iowa/restaurant/ginger-thai-cuisine (disregard the note that the restaurant is "closed" as we went there on Oct 30!).
