This is located in a wonderful old barn, so it is a unique place for lunch or coffee and dessert. They are only open from morning until mid afternoon from March through December. The food is all homemade and delicious. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the lunch menu is limited to about 3 sandwich choices, a couple of soups, and about 3 quiches. Now coffee and dessert is another matter. I would have liked to start at one end of the dessert case and work my way down. We had delicious French cream cake and took home huge pieces of raspberry and lemon cream cheese coffee cakes for later. All were tasty beyond words. The coffee flavors (and other beverages) are many and varied.
The gift shop features Iowa products and has a nice variety. Upstairs in the hayloft, there are antiques for sale. Not a large variety here, but what they have is very reasonable priced. Another building has space for groups to meet.
All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back when we are in the Cedar Falls area. We still have lots of desserts to taste!
