“Fun excursion”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

The alley is located in downtown Burlington and beats Lombard Street (San Fran) by 1/4 turn for crookedness. In good weather, drive down it. Run up it if you're nuts.

“Let's Go For a Ride!”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Known as the "crookedest" street in the U.S. right here in Burlington, I.A. I understand it was originally built for horse-drawn carriages climbing the steep hills in Burlington( this part of Iowa is definitely not flat.) It is an enjoyable ride alone or with family and friends! If you have a chance, stop by for yourself to see Historic Downtown Burlington--this could be a nice detour on a long road trip--Snake Alley is less than a mile off of Highway 34.

Pictures and the website does not give this any justice. You have to check it out for yourself! It is worth the walk or drive to see a little history!

“It's great”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

It is steeper than it looks, you have to try and run up it! The houses lining the sides of the alley are very nice historic structures.

“How many twists and turns...”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

We had driving down a similar street in San Francisco. We couldn't leave Burlington without driving down Snake Alley.
