We happened upon this interesting place while on a quick visit to Winona Lake......chose the outside dining. Menu choices were limited but very good and not the ordinary. Husband and I ordered the pork tacos, fried potatoes (a little greasy but very crunchy!), the tomato tartare and a salmon sandwich which my husband raved about! Would highly recommend this place for someone who likes the unusual in dining. These entrees were about $30 total.

This is an unexpected gastronomical delight...not what one would expect in a quaint lakeside town of 3,000 people. It is adjacent to a larger town of 15,000 (Warsaw) but this restaurant is more what one would expect somewhere in northside Chicago. Youthful, spirited, creative fusion good accompanied with a superb wines, craft beers and unusual cocktails. The sushi, sashimi and rolls are as good as it gets in an inland North American venue and better than some I have had in Japan. For a special treat, eat lunch at Cerulean. Lunches are served bento box style and offer a big selection of Asian inspired collections of salads, seafood, noodles and varied exotic tastes. My favorite is the soft-shell crab as the central element. AND...Cerulean just happens to be one of two of the best area restaurants and tourist areas in Northern Indiana. The Village at Winona is a splendid collection of artisan shops and eclectic retail stores collected on the shores of a gorgeous spring fed lake.

Don't get me wrong. The food is great, but the amounts are little and a bit pricey. It's a very nice place and you have a lot of fancy details that actually give it a special kind of different blend to other restaurants around the region. Fancyness like earpieces on the hostess and waiters is just too much for a small place. It seems they pretend to be fancy and that is much worse. Again it's a very nice place but I think it's overrated. Its a must though.

We recently ate at Cerulean with friends for lunch, and it was a fabulous meal for each of us. The restaurant sits on the edge of one of the canals around Winona Lake, so boats quietly floated by while we ate. The bento boxes are the main option at lunch (along with sushi), and each of us chose different combinations. My chicken with ginger was bursting with flavor. Sides all have numerous ingredients that punch up the flavor with unexpected combinations. Great place for those who love flavor and new combinations. Not a good place for "I just want meat and potatoes" folks. Decor is contemporary with a little Asian flair. Good service. Great place for creative cuisine and good conversation in a beautiful setting.

I love the food and the service. Servings are small but filling. Not a meat and potatoes eatery. The setting is on the channel of Winona Lake in The Village. Sometimes the noise level is a little disruptive but the food makes up for the distraction. Flavors are amazing.
