I purchased a DQ ice cream cake on 11/09/2013 which was my birthday. We went to the DQ in Walkerton Indiana to purchase it, which we did with our credit card. We went home and I attempted to cut it which was hard as it was very gummy. I took a slice and ate it anyway thinking maybe that was the way they are suppose to be. I went to sleep that eve only to wake up 4 hours later with sever cramps, vomiting and diarrhea. The next day I called regarding the cake. I spoke with Darla and explained how I had the cake last night and got sick. I requested a refund of the 23-24 dollars and she said bring the cake back in and it would not be a problem but she did also state that the board of health stated it takes 24-48 hours to get sick and I did not fit that. I brought the cake back today with my husband. Darla refused to take it back and Bob the manager told me to take my cake and get out and that he would not issue a refund and I would have to deal with DQ headquarters. I explained to him how sick I was and he said he did not believe me. I explained I was a nurse and would not lie about such things and he stated he didn't care what I was and would never want to be taken care of by me. I must say in all my 54 years I have never been treated so discourteously by someone who operates a business for the public. When I called from the DQ to the headquarters today, I spoke with a Sara and while I was on the phone voicing my complaint from his establishment, he was making rude comments in front of me and my husband and other patrons in the place and Darla voiced while I was explaining the situation over the phone that it was BS and that she never told me I could have my money back. Now I do not just want my money back but I want restitution for the way I was treated by Bob and Darla. I am not sure if this is the way they treat everyone but I have never felt so bad and mistreated. I was so sick and it was my Birthday and I brought the cake back so they could see that I was not lying. I cant believe this is the way DQ treats their customers. Shame on you for allowing such things like this to happen DQ
