“A unique experience in the middle of nature with spectacular views”
Reviewed October 17, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

A unique experience in the middle of nature with spectacular views. Casa el Velero is extremely tidy and has all the conveniences you need for a relaxing stay. Delicious breakfasts were made by the lovely maid Cristina and she prepared us the best arepas de huevo we had in Colombia. The breakfast is included in the price and Cristina also cleaned the place every morning. In the evenings we enjoyed cooking ourselves as the kitchen is very well equipped. Looking at the wonderful view, and reading and relaxing in the hammocks was our favourite thing to do. There is a beautiful beach just downhill but swimming was not possible due to strong waves and currents. We took a 45 minutes bus ride to Tayrona one day to swim in the gorgeous beaches of the national park. The open air shower is very beautiful and the bathroom has also an amazing view to a jungle hill. Beforehand we were a little bit worried how well we could sleep in an almost open air bed but it turned out we slept extremely well and in the mornings we were greeted by exotic bird sounds. However, you need to prepared for a wild but interesting insect life in the evenings when the lights are turned on. The sympathetic gardener Pupito is taking good care of the garden and helped us in many ways.
