“nice facility...disappointing tour”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Went to the facility expecting to see where the Dallara chassis were produced. Paid the admission to the facility and for the "tour". Saw several show cars. Tour consisted of taking us through the general admission part of the facility. Didn't really learn anything more than if I did the walk thru on my own. Hearing about the new Dallara simulator was interesting. Explained how they had to make sure the roof was high enough to make sure it fit. One problem, the tour does not take you to at least look at it. When the tour was over, a guest asked if we were going to see the production room of the chassis...unfortunately, that too is off limits to look at because they are working on a government contract and due to security concerns, the tour can not allow access to the facility where production takes place. Maybe just me but I thought that was the main purpose of the "tour". It is new so hopefully they will work on providing a quality tour and experience. Finally, very little activity going on for a weekday. (Painting, touch ups, etc). Guide said workers were at st Pete for the indycar race.

“Might be great”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

As I'm sure is the case with many of their visitors, we are not local to Indianapolis. I took the family for a weekend trip to Indianapolis, specifically looking for racing-themed activities that my son would love. On Saturday morning when we arrived, we found that Dallara was closed all day for a private event. Of course, they are also closed on Sunday, so we were not able to visit while we were in town. They have a great website, and clearly cater to these private parties. It would be nice if they would bother to post times like this when they will be closed to the public during their normal hours!

“What a nice place to see racing related stuff”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

We went recently with family visiting. Typically we have done other racing related activities and tours but decided to trip this. We spent a little over 2 hours at this place. Had a great experience - Our guide (also photographer and question answerer) Isaac did a great job. It was nice to see racing from a slightly different angle and the "kids" (even the 71 year old in our group) loved the simulators at 200 mph. This is a definite recommend place to go in Indy.

“Nice place to spend a couple of hours”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

We stopped off here when the Indy Raceway was closed one day. Our visit began with a short movie presentation about how Dallara started and what the company does. We then took a factory tour which was fairly informative. Our guide was knowledgeable but a little on the boring side. After the tour, we paid extra to ride in the street legal, two-seater Indy car they have available. It was driven by our guide. He took us around the block a couple of times. Although it was nothing like being on the track, we got up pretty fast on the straight-a-ways and you could feel the force of the turns. It was worth the extra money for the ride. Finally, we drove some of the simulators and looked around the museum and gift shop. We thought the simulators were really interesting but the gift shop is pretty weak.

There is a nice café in the same building serving good sandwiches and drinks if you need to grab a snack.
