The hotel is kept up well, rooms are fantastic, breakfast at restaurant was great. Noise level is not the greatest… rooms on the inside can have blasting music till 11… and partying in hallways on the nights we were there. But when hotel staff was notified, security took care of the hallway part right away.

I really don't enjoy visiting South Bend but the staff and team at the Double Tree are excellent and make me feel at home. The hotel is very nice and the parking garage makes those cold and frosty South Bend mornings a bit easier to face. This is a great place to stay.

overall it is very good. there are cotton q-tips, sewing package, and shoe polisher, which other hotels normally will not provide. the air conditioner is quiet, not like most of other north american hotels that make a lot of noises.

Love this hotel! Located in the heart of the city where the Oliver Chilled plow, Studebaker cars and many other innovations were born, the locals are friendly and the staff at the hotel carry this through. Love that the hotel is next to the beautiful River and within walking distance of the South Bend Museum of Art, Morris Performing Arts Center, Palais Ballroom, South Bend Civic Theater and super, locally owned restaurants, a wine shop, sushi bar, coffee shops, pubs and locally owned gift stores. There's even the Purple Porch co-op, where you can buy locally grown fruits, cheeses and vegetables from neighboring farms and producers. The hotel is also near the East Race, where you can put your kayak in or rent a raft down a world-class white water course. South Bend and her sister cities have installed a lovely river walk that takes pedestrians and cyclists along the river for miles to the north and south. This hotel has a wonderful hot tub that is clean and well-appointed for relaxation. Would like to see more locally-sourced food on the menu at the hotel's restaurant but hopefully that will come soon.

Recently remodeled, this hotel provides excelleant service in a warm and inviting atmosphere in the heart of South Bend, within walking distants of restaurants and entertainment. The fitness center is well equipped. The in hotel restaurant offers a fine selection of foods and spirits.
