Really nice HGI. I have had the pleasure of staying here on a few occasions for business and am always happy. Friendly staff and very clean and well maintained hotel. Nice fitness center. Good bar, decent food for both breakfast and dinner.

In general we like staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and this one was fine but not our favorite. The decor was a pleasant change from the standard however the bathrooms are in need of updating. Besides being small, the bathroom felt old and rundown. The light fixtures were rusted and the shower tiling very dated. For the most part our room was clean however the lamp on the nightstand was covered in cobwebs. Also a consistent problem we have found with HGIs are that the sheets do not fit the beds properly. Perhaps this is because of the extra padding they put on their mattresses, but we repeatedly would find the sheets not fitting properly and by morning would be half off the mattress.

On a positive note, we got to the hotel tired and hungry after being on the road all day, and had a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant. Our waitress, I believe her name was Jennie, was fabulous and able to accommodate all of our vegetarian requests. Our dinner was great and she went out of her way to make sure it was. In general, all the staff we met were helpful.

The restaurant, pool and gym are all fantastic. Room was big, with fridge, microwave and huge tv.

The whole hotel is done up really nicely, and staff were very friendly. The only downside was lack of soundproofing; noise from other rooms and the corridor.

Varied breakfast buffet with hot options too, very nice.

This hotel was very clean and the staff are very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast buffet had a good assortment and the food was very good. We had a business dinner and Ingrid our bartender was very helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding and the service was very professional. The coffee was great too! The only complaint I have is that the shower was very weak. Overall, very nice place for business travelers!

The staff here is very helpful and willing to assist in so many ways. I have stayed at multiple other hotels in the South Bend area, and most are good. The Hilton Garden Inn is great. Their breakfast is always great and cooked to order. The indoor pool is small, but good for swimming and my kids enjoy it. The spa is hot and great for relaxing.
The business center is up to date and the staff was helpful with the equipment.
The rooms have always been clean. The beds are very comfortable and the desk/wireless internet is great for the business traveler.
This is my hotel of choice for South Bend.

Room Tip: Get the Bed and Breakfast Option. Worth it for a great start in the morning.

My wife and I were a little concerned after having read some of the reviews. As a Diamond member, HGI is one of our favorite brands, so we gave it a shot. Good call for us. We arrived late, they were full, but you couldnt tell it (other than the parking lot) We recevied great service from every employee, they even had someone at 10:00 offer to help us park the car it was so busy. The room was large and comfortable. Everyone we met had a smile. Best of all was the breakfast cooked to order and fit for a king. Donna (Miss Over Achiever we heard her called lovingly) was a great mbassador for the entire city, not just the HGI. Cant wait to find a reaosn to come back.

Room Tip: Request a jet tube! Make sure you take time for the breakfast!!

This Hilton Garden Inn offers nothing more and nothing less than what I expect from a decent hotel. Close to the airport and Notre dame University (not really walking distance, you need a car!), in a green and quiet area of South Bend. Nice building. My room was huge and even had a jacuzzi. Free wireless and wired Internet broadband connection. Breakfast is ok. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Before you pop the question, they already have an answer.

The amazing thing is that after months of endless jetlag, I recovered here my natural sleeping rythm: eight hours non-stop. Four nights in a row. Was it the bed? The noisy airco? I have no idea ...

Some minor points of criticism would be:

- My room was dark, the ceiling was low, windows did not open, so I felt a little locked up.

- The products you can buy in the Pavilion Pantry do not show prices. Only when reading the bill, you discover that the bottle of white table wine costs 23.83 without tax.

- My room was not cleaned to prefection. The sink in the bathroom was not cleaned twice, the table in the sitting area never (in four nights).

- The elevators could be cleaner.

I am so sorry you found your guest room not as clean as you expected. Our housekeepers work very hard to keep our guest rooms clean and an unacceptable guest room is not the standard at our hotel. My sincerest apologies for the inconveniences that you encountered during your stay; however we are pleased to hear that you got a good night’s sleep while you were here. In regards to the Pantry Pavillion, our pricing is located on the wall with a list of every item and its associated cost, however I will let our Front Desk Manager know about the situation, so that maybe there is a more convenient way to display the prices.
