Fiddler's Hearth has a Celtic menu with unique foods and whiskies you won't find too often between South Bend and Dublin. It's meat and potatoes, but prepared in new ways. The public house atmosphere includes frequent live music, board games and slow meals. I don't miss being hustled for appitizers and desserts. Soak in the Fiddler's Hearth when you need a new experience.

We were there last July - the place appeared clean inside, the service was friendly and the food was very, very good. Prices were quite reasonable As I recall it was rather dark inside but we had a great time..

This is one of those places with great food and a lot of eclectic/Celtic atmosphere. They have a combination of small tables and trestle tables. If they're full (not uncommon) the trestle tables are shared with strangers. Occasionally there is local entertainment, usually in the Celtic style (I haven't figured out the schedule). The menu includes Bangers and Mash, Fish And Chips (wrapped in the local newspaper), and a great variety of beers. I eat there perhaps once every two months for either lunch or dinner.

Grew up in South Bend and never went to the establishment. Decided to try something new on a recent trip back home.

The atmosphere is traditional pub and the seating is European style on Fri and Sat nights. The menu selection is vast. I got the pork boxty. Really good food. The pretzel appetizer was good too.

Live music with a Irish band was really enjoyable.

It is family friendly too.

We will include it again on future trips.

We still enjoy going to Fiddler's Hearth but lately we've had the same waiter and he seems to be on another planet. You can be sat there for ages waiting for a drink etc., and he is wandering around aimlessly (not taking care of business). Promises to bring a side plate and it never arrives. Says he's bringoing more poached eggs because the ones he brought were broken. He never did bring them etc....
