Historic Mansion converted into restaurant and bar. Great atmosphere, good wine list and menu choices. Somewhat pricey

“Great place.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2012

This historic mansion has both superb dining atmosphere and great food and service. There are I believe from dining there 4 floors. The basement, first floor with the fireplace, second floor with a large bar area and the third floor with small dining area. Very historic, plus great food. Good off street parking in a residential area.

“not good”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

food was horrible. ordered rack of lamb - very under cooked. best part about the meal was the wine because all they had to do was open it and not cook or prepare it. NYC prices for well below average food. skip this place. next time we going for a burger and beer someplace in south bend.

“Nostalgia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

The beauty and majesty of the architecture make Tippecanoe a lovely place to dine. There are so many rooms and such history to the place, and that grand staircase is quite spectacular. The food, I would say, is not in the "spectacular" category but is still very good. You will pay plenty for what you eat, so make sure this is a place you want to visit. I have been there two or three times and will certainly go back.

“Sadly, this restaurant seems to be in decline”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

This was my favorite fine dining restaurant in South Bend for many years. While the atmosphere is still outstanding the food is not as good as it once was.

The Sunday Brunch has less selection and is more expensive. The Easter brunch this year did not have bacon. The cook to order omelet was served with part of the egg still raw - not under cooked - raw. The dinner menu appears more limited and the quality of the entrees is now hit and miss.
