Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and was I happy that I did! Set in a renovated old bank in downtown South Bend, the place offers great ambience, great food and reasonable prices. The service was just short of great but certainly acceptable. Menu highlights include the shrimp appetizer, the Basque Stew and the lamb shank - menu staples. I had the special of California Sea Bass in a light lobster cream sauce with farrotto (a risotto type side dish made with a grain called farro). I would go back to this place anytime.
Cafe Navarre would give any Chicago restaurant a challenge.
