Comprehensive collection of various artists and styles. There are also temp shows, with some well known artist, probably the biggest draw in the area for more well known artists. Great photo history collections. Helpful staff. Good for group trips if arranged ahead. Currently is a long walk from the parking area (free if validated) but it is in the works to move to the edge of campus.

I started visiting the Snite Museum as a student at Notre Dame WAAAY back in the 70's and 80's. Still, I visit it every time I come back to South Bend. Besides their permanent collection (of which only a fraction is displayed at any one time), there are always 2-3 new exhibits. The Snite houses all styles and media from around the world, from ancient to modern. The cost? Whatever you feel it is worth--admission is by donation with no pressure. It is located right on the Notre Dame campus. Tours are available.
