The owner came to our table and personally took our order. We told her we were dieting and she told us she would take care of us. She even gave us the shrimp for free. The food was wonderful, fresh and tasty. If you are staying in South Bend or nearby you should go here.

I have many food allergies and they are very accomodating. I order the orange chicken without green onion, red onion or green pepper. The sauce is very sweet so I ask for chile sauce on the side. The mix of sweet and hot is out of this world. Best mix ever!!!!

We were totally surprised by what we found in this little strip mall on the outskirts of Notre Dame. The charming owner, Jean, sat down with us and basically interviewed everyone in the family about likes/dislikes. She customized our order, working around a gluten sensitivity. What arrived was nothing short of fantastic! Everything was fresh & flavorful. A week later we are still talking about the whole experience! Oh, also, the final bill for 5 was extremely reasonable. GO!!

We used to spend a lot of time in Taiwan and China. We live in Los Angeles and grew up there, and we were reared on Chinese food; there are a TON of Chinese restaurants in L.A. We love Chinese food and make it a point to eat in every Chinatown in the United States in cities we visit; the list is extensive.

We have not enjoyed a meal like this since the last time we were in Taiwan. Jean, the owner considers every table "a project." She personally takes each order while sitting at the table. She literally sits down in a chair and will speak to you to learn about what you like, if you have any food allergies, what you do not like, and then she will help you plan a beautiful and sumptuous meal! Four of us ate for $72 before tip and we ate WELL!

When you eat there, be sure to let Jean suggest some classic Taiwanese items. If you have never eaten food in Taiwan, you have never eaten the best. Consider trying something you have never had before; you will likely be surprised at how much you enjoy it!

I think the service is good especially from the owner who would come and interview you about your likes and dislikes, allergies, etc. The other workers just seem to be disconnected or is simply doing their jobs. The food is good and fresh, although a little salty on a couple of items we've received such as the chicken with mushrooms braised in Chinese cooking wine. You cannot go wrong with free samples of the famous Almond encrusted shrimp that is her 'special recipe'. Just make sure you mention less salt and ask before letting them select your meal for you because it can end up being quite expensive for a quick lunch in a not so nice setting. I would definitely come back to try out some more dishes if I am passing by again but to be honest, would probably stick to eating in San Francisco or NYC's Chinatown or even in China (Mainland or HK) for a better value and authenticity.
