Sean O' Casey's atmosphere is actually nice, looks like an authentic Irish Pub and is quite large. It's hooked onto a hotel downtown and many people might not know it is even there. I've been there twice and both times there were less 5 customers in. The price for Shepards Pie was almost $20, this is outrageous -- considering too that a beer was $5. The food was nothing special, the service was horrible (we waited a long time for everything even though there were no customers), and I will probably never go back.

The shepherd's pie was oversalted....my son added catsup to his to make it edible. It and the vegetables had at least 2X as much salt as would be in any restaurant dish I have ever eaten at. It was also a miserable mixture of hamburger topped by mashed potatoes; no shepherd nor sheep would eat this. Thank God the serving portion was small so we didn't have to feel so bad about wasting the rest. The price for this sole "irish" dish listed on the menu was $15; better to spend that $15 at McDonald's up the street of at Backstage Grill down the street! We gave Sean O'Casey's a second chance: this time we had no expectations of Irish food. However, we did not expect the food to be worse than the first time around. Never again.
