“Amish Visitor”

Visited the many shops, visitors center and restaurants. The Amish are an amazing people and I certainly respect their beliefs and hard work. It was a true joy to watch the families work together and the love they share.

“Excellent info on Amish and Mennonite religion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

The tour explaining the origin of Mennonite and Amish beliefs was excellent. The displays are very well done. Unfortunately for us, the power went out in Shipshewana at the end of our tour, so we missed a couple of the displays.

“History at its best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

We took a guided tour of the museum and I was amazed at the incorrect information I had previously thought was fact. The history of the Amish in video form was most informative.

“Great for adults, boring for kids”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

This attraction is fascinating for adults who can easily sit through the many video presentations throughout the tour. The kids got bored. My boys are 6 and 8, and were quite bored. They couldn't wait to be done. My husband and I thought the info presented and the exhibits were fascinating and wish we could have went through it slower. They have an Amish house exhibit and clothes hanging on the line outside. There is also a gift shop with nice things inside. Seems the places is run by senior citizen volunteers and they were all super pleasant.

“History lesson”

Tour guide knowledgeable, and takes time for questions. Museum well-organized, and interactive with lots of audio-visual components.
