“Dinner in an Amish Home: Worth it!”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

There are several buggy tours that offer an Amish style meal, but Miller's is the only one that offers an Amish meal IN an Amish home, served by Amish. The price may seem a little steep ($40/person) but it is well worth the experience.

The buggy ride was nice, but not as long or informative as I had hoped. But still, very nice and enjoyable!

The dinner is the main attraction! There is nothing like getting to see Amish life first-hand inside an Amish home while eating home-cooked Amish food. This is a great chance to really see what the Amish are like (and dispel many myths). There's no need to be nervous about being English here, just enjoy the hospitality and remember to try everything as it comes by!

“A great experience”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

There are a few options here from just a short trip around the town, to working on the farm, to dinner with the family. We opted for the ride and dinner with an Amish family. It is a great experience since everything is traditional. You get to appreciate what it is like to be in that horse and buggy as cars and trucks go zipping by. The dinner at the house is wonderful, not just the food, but watching the family gather, how it was prepared without electric, the art of conversation. I imagine the working on the farm gives the full aspect of the life as well and the hard work. In our fast world what a great way to slow down and appreciate.

“Great experience, but get your tickets early”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Wow, what an experience. We did the 4 star tour which takes you to a working Amish farm where you can help with chores. This tour is only at 4:30 in the afternoon since it arrives during chore time. First let me advise you to buy tickets early. The lady at Hoestetler's store sold us tickets at 3pm for the 4pm tour and when we arrived were told she should not have sold tickets that late and we had to get out of the buggy and wait while all the people going for dinner rode the buggies and then the driver had to come back for us. So if you would like to do this, please buy tickets earlier in the day or the day before to avoid that.

Our tour once we started was phenominal. The driver let the kids sit up front with him and they loved it! The buggies are actually quite warm and cozy inside. The family that lives on the farm were very kind and let the kids milk the cows and try the milk. There was a little girl that had the kids help her with feeding the baby calves by bottle. They were so taken with this way of life. The tour guide at the farm, Erving was so kind, and gentle. Truly a man of Christ. It showed in everything he said and did. Really we could not have asked for a better tour. The driver also let the kids feed the horse carrots when we returned. I know this was the highlight of our trip!
