We stayed here Friday & Saturday night and it was a very relaxing stay. The rooms were decorated in very nice amish furniture, beds were very comfortable. Bedspread was a little too old fashioned but clean. Bathroom was emaculate and large. We liked the hand rail getting in the shower for safety. Pool was 87 degrees and had a very nice clean area. No hottub. Exercise equipment was adequate for a hotel this size and husband enjoyed the treadmill. Breakfast was very good, gravy, waffels etc. Also the breakfast area was kept very clean. I really enjoyed our stay.

There was 10 of us that were going to stay for a one night stay on our way to our destination. We reservered 3 rooms & told them we probably wouldn't be there till around 6pm . They told us that was fine . We arrived earlier then we thought & was greeted very nicely & told out rooms were ready . The rooms were gorgeous & so clean ! The smell of the place made me think of walking into a newly built house , freshly painted . The decor was beautiful . The lady working the front desk was so helpful . It was a Sunday that we checked in & she informed us that there was no places in the surrounding area that were open ( being it is a very religious area occupied by the Amish ) She told us about the free breakfast they have there in the morning & gave us some flyers of restaurants that would be a few miles away in another town . I asked for extra pillows & she was right there with them . The beds were comfy & felt so new . The next morning we went to breakfast & thinking it would only be bagels or toast & coffee ,was shocked to see , eggs , biscuits & gravy , waffles that you can make , cereal, juice , & danishs. It was a very filling breakfast to start us on our day . When we checked out , I stated that the place was so new & how long had they been opened - The lady working that morning said " 12 Years " I was shocked & I informed her of such . She replyed " We like to keep it clean " Well I must say , they need to teach other places this clean trick !! If we are ever in this area again , You know we will be staying there .

Great hotel...clean...friendly. We were there New Years Eve and it was very quiet. However, on check-in, we were told that they couldn't honor our Senior Discount because we didn't have AARP or CARP. Senior discount is advertised as 60+ with ID, which we had. I had booked for friends who were with us, and they had to use their CAA to qualify for the discounted rate, even though they were both over 60. I confirmed later with hotel chain that AARP or CARP was not required. Staff needs some training.

Very clean hotel with the friendliest staff and house keeping you will find anywhere. Comfortable with good breakfast (loved the waffles and maple syrup). It was very busy during the days of the flea market. Some had to be sent away due to no available rooms. Make your reservations ahead of time. You will not be sorry cause it is the nicest hotel in the area. We enjoyed the amish atmosphere. THere are lots of menonite and amish around Shipshewana. You will see the families out and the women working in restaurants. Everything shuts down at 5pm Monday thru Friday. I am not sure about Saturday. Sunday nothing is open. So eat before you get to Shipshewana if you arrive on Sunday. Only 2 restaurants open in the nearest city Middlebury and one of them closes at 3pm. Not much for tourist to do. Hotel is great but the area is too commercialized to enjoy. The people are very friendly but if you want the old order amish experience go to Lancaster, PA, Bird-In-Hand, PA, and Intercourse, PA. Food choice is Chicken and meatloaf every where.

A good place to stay on the edge of Shipshewana, IN when visiting Amish Country. Lots of places to shop, eat, and people watch. Very interesting community. The negative is that all the store close at 5:30pm Monday - Saturday and are NOT open on Sunday.
All the shops are clean and great customer service; food was awesome at the The Blue Gate Restaurant in Shipshewana, IN. Motel is located on the main highway where you will see many buggies and horse, and bicycle riders. Riders of all ages and wearing their traditional Amish dress. Breakfast at this motel is good and hot. Negative of motel - no whirlpool.

Girls getaway, 2 night stay. Pleasant stay. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Nightowl of the group enjoyed the comfy lounge near front desk for reading and early riser enjoyed the outdoor seating area and watching the buggies go by (could have used a larger area for seating outside though, later in the morning, had to share with smokers. Ick!). Continental breakfast was adequate but could have used a little more fruit selections (apples only choice and were tasteless!). Also, breakfast lounge got extremely crowded during last hour, so go early. Pool was small but very clean and felt good after a long day of shopping. Would stay here again.

We just returned from a three night stay at this hotel. Mom, daughter and two teenage girls. Price was over $100.00 per night. The two rooms of the suite were on the small size as was the bathroom. King bed in one room adequate. Fold out couch was old and mattress worn out. Hotel staff did try and find another King room with better mattresses. None were any better. We ended up padding the couch mattress with blankets to make it sleepable. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Do not take recommendation of where to order a pizza from the book provided in the room by the hotel. After a long day at the flea market we ordered a pizza delivered. It was so awful even the teenagers couldn't eat it. Air conditioner located in the room with the king bed slightly noisey. Pool small and the girls tell me the water to cold, not heated. Continental breakfast was very nice. And well stocked.
