Wanted a place to stay we hadn't stayed before while in Shipshewana IN. We had plans to go to the Blue Gate Restuarant for a Dinner/Theater program. A weekend get a way before I was to have major surgery. You really get what you pay for. I was totally shocked by all the Amish style settings they had. Will definitely stay there again. My husband said we should have stayed there 2 nights. Could have relaxed more and shopped and come back and relax more. We didn't use the pool as it was too cold and not enough time to use it before needing to get ready for our evening out. Too tired after the program to use the facilities, but will make sure we do next time we stay in the area.

My wife and I spent 3 nights in Shipshewana at the Farmstead. Very clean, nice room; nothing fancy, but very comfortable. The room was spotless, the staff super friendly, the free breakfast was excellent and the location was perfect. I highly recommend the Farmstead Inn.

Out of all the hotels, motels, inns i have stayed in this place was fantastic!!!!. It was quiet, no doors slamming, toilets flushing, showers running. The inns staff were very helpful. I could not ask for a better place. I mentioned the auction site number and they took off $20.00 a night.

This is the second time we stayed at the Farmstead while visiting friends in the area. The staff is always friendly, and welcoming. The hotel is very well maintained, and clean. The rooms are very large, and the water pressure in the shower was great. This is a great hotel for familes or couples. The rooms are spread out and the hotel is very quiet. There is a large indoor pool, hot tub, and even a play area outside. Plus the hotel is centrally located, and you can easily get into town or walk to the Amish Museum, Flea Market, and large Antique Market. When we visit Shipshe this is where we will stay!

My husband and I stay here a couple of times a year. The hotel is right across from the flea market so you can actually walk if you want to although we always get free parking from the hotel. The property is beautiful and well maintened, we always sit outside in the evening on their benchs and chairs ( which they have alot of ). The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely done although it would be nice to have a bigger tv to watch! The breakfast in the morning has a good variety and kept very clean. I would warn all of you though that on Sundays the whole town shuts down so you have to go into other towns to eat or do anything. We enjoy our stay here and would reccommend it to others.

Room Tip: If you want to sleep in, I would ask for a room not in the hall way to the breakfast area.

We called ahead to get reservation and find out what things there was too do in area. When I reserved my room and asked what there was too do in the area the receptionist said "I don't know". We looked online found ton's of stores etc too do and downtown is packed in June on a Saturday was amazing but it all closes at three or about. Well earliest check in for hotel is 3 so good thing we planned ahead and got there early left are things in car. When we went to the hotel I asked what there was to do on the property? They have a lot of buildings its a big place! Two receptionist said" I don't know "! We then went to are room which was great! We then around 5:45pm noticed out are window people coming in and out a building on the grounds that said Antiques. We went to go check it out to see if it was a museum or something? It was a flea market on grounds and it closed at 6pm and would not be back open on Sunday so we missed out on something we would have enjoyed. FYI flea Market in town only open Tuesday and Wednesday We then found a basketball room and it had a bent rim. We then found a ping pong table room with two tables but no rubber on any of the paddles. The pool was nice and had a kiddie pool and hot tub. They have a rock flooring that is coming up and hurt are feet and was in the pool and even got in are shoes. We asked when I reserved are room if it had flat screen and they stated yes but when we got too the room we couldn't even see it from the bed it was so small. We slept over missed breakfast but found out that after 11Am every hour your late checking out it is $10.00! When we stay at the Hilton they allow you up till !pm for late check out especially when you rent the most expensive room in the hotel like we did in this hotel! They had more things to do on grounds but not sure what they are because no info on what they were and nobody would tell us even wen we asked!

Room Tip: Look online and got to Shipshewana website for all your info Saturday was packed downtown and we had...

We have stayed at the Farmstead Inn in Shipshewana, Indiana many times over the years and we go back every year for one night of our two night stays in the area. The rooms are large, well equipped and furnished and clean. The property itself is very nice and the pool and hot tub are great after a long day of shopping. We choose this property primarily for it's location directly across from the Flea Market, so it is so convenient to shop all day at the Market and just cross the street to your "home". The only real downer is the mattress on the beds are in need of replacing as they are somewhat thin and bouncie. First noticed this at our stay last year and wad hoping they would have upgraded the mattress by now. Will have to wait until next year to see!
