This place became famous during The Depression for its delicious fried chicken, but we go for the local delicacy of Boned-and-Buttered Perch:
The fish is wonderful, as are the trimmings....service is businesslike but commendably speedy....and it's all worth the 25 bucks (or whatever it has gone up to now). Chicagoans might think this price not worth a comment, but for "Da Region" it's high -- yet worth every penny. Also, if you need a pre-dinner drink, do it before you arrive (and thank your designated driver).

Tiebels is not the place for turkey and chicken liver. Liver was salty. Turkey dry ( ordered the dark meat) Ordered liver as appetizer. Dinner rolls were brought after the appetizer was brought to the table. Ordered hot tea and had to ask twice for honey to go along with the tea. Waitress forgot.
Poor service this time.

Had been there before and ordered pork chops and they were better and the service was better, too!!

Teibels has always been the iconic supper club type of restaurant and a region favorite. During the holidays the restaurant is filled with many generations of families. You come to Teibels for one thing, Perch! There is a nice variety of items on the menu, however an old school dirty martini, or a manhattan and a plate of buttery perch is calling my name. The place is decorated inside and out for the holidays. Teibels is also great for business luncheons, special occasion dinners and they have private rooms for wedding and other corporate events. Everyone in the region knows where Teibels is located, a real piece of nostalgia.

Tiebel's is another stop that we always make on our yearly trip through the area to a trade show in WI. They make decent martinis and serve you a good meal. If you're hungry, you can get the all-you-can-eat perch or fried chicken. The pork chops are also good. We normally eat in the bar area and, since our trip is usually during that time, they're more than happy to put the World Series on TV for us. Dinner is a full meal with bread, cheese, salad/soup, entree and even ice cream for desert - all at a reasonable price.

Excellent food and service.. I always get the perch. although I hear the chicken is excellent. Never disappointed. Love the relish tray, especially the cole slaw.

Whenever I am at Teibel's I always take a picture of their water glass with their name on it and email to my cousins in other parts of the country. Teibel's is a cue for great meals, and family gatherings. Another post referred to Teibel's as a "region time capsule". For me it's a family time capsule
