The Sant Claus Post Office sits out front of the museum where you can write/ mail a letter to Santa(at no cost). You will get a response by mail to the letter. They get over 40,000 letters a year and donations cover the postage. The museum is small but we loved hearing how the town of Sant Claus, Indiana got it's name and seeing pictures from its early days. We loved reading the letters from children in the early years to Santa. They have them displayed by year and it is so heart warming to read what these kids wanted, not for themselves but for their parents and siblings. The staff was great to answer questions. Doesn't take a long time but well worth the stop.

Fun little stop to learn the history of Santa Claus Indiana. I have no shame in saying I wept reading some of the endearing letters to Santa on display. The statue alone is worth a photo opt. So if you're visiting Holiday World, be sure to take an hour to enjoy this stop.

This was a fun place for my son to write a letter to Santa and to take a few pictures. The museum was okay but not somewhere I would go twice. My son was sad the train exhibit didn’t work. Staff was very friendly.

I would consider this museum a “must stop” for adults visiting Santa Claus Indiana. Here you learn how the town got its name, how it turned into a tourist attraction, and how it has grown to be what it is today. Fascinating for history buffs.

While you are in town, a really small town, to visist Holiday World, you should take a little break to stop in and see the Santa Claus Museum. It only takes an hour or so to see it, and I think most people would find it interesting. The Museum is only a 5 minute drive from the front gat of the Holiday World, and worth the trip. A good place to go to let a rain storm pass, or get out of the sun for a little while.
