we Just got back From Santa Claus. We had the best time. The candy Castle was a great place. In the 6 days we spent there we went to the castle 5 times. The internet thing he has now was great for my 5 yr old..i cannot say enough about the frozen hot chocolate is the best.we stayed In Jasper. The christmas lodge is kind of pricey. In staying 28 miles for all the stuff in santa claus we could stay longer.I would say thats the way to go.

Santa's Candy Castle is a fabulous place to bring your family when you are in the Santa Claus, Indiana area. It offers a truly unique combination of history, magic, and decadent confections.

First, the history. The castle has a fascinating history dating back to the 1930s when it was the first themed attraction in the nation. There are a few rooms in the castle that have historic ephemera and memorabilia about the castle itself as well as the town of Santa Claus, Indiana. Moms and Dads (and Grandparents) will particularly enjoy this aspect of the castle.

Next, magic. Santa's Candy Castle really is a magical experience. There is something special about stepping inside a castle in a town called Santa Claus, Indiana. The look in my children's eyes as they signed Santa's good book or as they wrote letters to Santa in the post office room was priceless. There are many really neat special events throughout the year such as storytime with Santa, gingerbread house decorating and chestnuts roasting on an open fire. And the times that Santa Claus himself is there, you truly do believe that it really is his castle.

Finally, the confections. While this may not be the world's largest candy shop in the world, it certainly is one of the coolest ones. The world's biggest selection of candy canes, dozens of flavors of gourmet hot chocolate, frozen hot chocolate in the summer, and reindeer shoes (1/4 lb of the yummiest caramel you've ever had!) let you know right away that this is a special place, and it is very distinctly "Santa". The castle has many old-fashioned handmade confections that are hard to find anymore like divinity, penuche, peanut brittle and caramel corn. I have not tried anything that I didn't absolutely love. And as far as delicious gourmet confections go, their prices are very reasonable.

I live very near the Candy Castle, and have watched it progress into a FREE, historical and very enjoyable experience! Best candy in the WORLD! specially the fudge! Clean, courtious staff, kids love it, like a fantasyland. Anyone coming anywhere close should deffinatlty stop by for the experience! Also there are specialty attractions there, Chainsaw Willie and his beautiful wood custom carvings!!

We thought overall Santa Claus was a great place for a vaction spot. Our kids LOVED Holiday World, and We LOVED the Lodge. We went to Santa's Candy Castle and we thougt is was a nice place. It was NOT over priced. There were alot of pictures, and none on the floor. They had cases with pictures in them. They had a place for children to sit down and write a letter to Santa Claus. Our kids thought that was really cool...Everything has something to do with Christmas in that town. The history on the town is really neat. All the little shops are nice. The town is a beautiful place, and WE WILL GO BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
