We stayed for a couple of days to check out the covered bridges. The room is very clean, service at front desk always warm and welcoming and I loved our room as it was simple, fridge and microwave included and reminded me of when I was a kiddo plus VERY CLEAN :) Close to the bridge routes and small town anemities. The rates are also very affordable (45-55 a night! ) This old time classic fits right in if you're looking for simplicity that fit its' surroundings :)

Some of the other reviews for this location are a bit over the top. It's not like this is a five star property. It's not that fantastic or wonderous. However... this is a classic old style motel, which is my favorite kind of place to stay. The check-in was quick enough, and the room was clean. Be aware that this has old-style tiled shower stalls (sort of like a closet), no bath, but it was clean too. My remote had dead batteries, and they took care of it in minutes, and were pleasant about it too. Instead of chain motels with their beige sameness, get back to a bygone era when motels were run by Mom-n-Pop couples, give this place a shot. If you're not some stuck up preppie, you should enjoy this old property, a slice of the real American Roadside. I will certainly stay here again when in the area.

My earlier review of the Forrest had a lot to do with the former owners. They kept a great hotel. They have since sold it to a young couple with children.

The hotel was clean enough and comfortable enough. They had put in new carpet and not aired the room, so we were smelling carpet glue all weekend.
There was a fridge in the room, and a microwave-nice touches. But the rest of the room was older and slightly run-down. The bathroom was ok.

I think the new owners are trying, but I am not sure they understand what makes a good small-town hotel.

Great place to stay for an long weekend to go to Turkey Run for some fun. Rooms are alway clean and have stayed here for about 3-4 years. This is a family owned business. The couple is great to work with.

Our stay at The Forrest Motel was definitely one for the record books.

Don't let their young ages fool you, Carrie and Jason really know how to run a first class motel. The rooms were super clean and the service was top notch. All of the usual amenities are included (microwave, cable TV, mini-fridge, wireless internet) as well as free coffee and hot chocolate in the mornings.

The building itself is not brand new, but is well maintained. Admittedly the gas wall heaters are a little intimidating looking, but they are sure to keep you cozy.

If you are the type to complain about not having a 42" LCD TV, then this isn't the place for you. However, if you are looking for a nice place to stay that is easy on the budget and has 1st class service then you should check in to the Forrest Motel.
