We toured 35 covered bridges in Parke County and this was, by far, the best one to take pictures of and the Bridgeton Mill was quite an experience to see.... the owner of the Mill was a person of interest to talk to.....

Beautiful covered bridge and mill, still operable, with historic equipment. The owner/operator takes the time to explain the milling process. If you love covered bridges, this one's a must. Long and full of character, it's an easy walk to the other side of the stream. Get good directions from the mill before you go, because map apps aren't effective in finding the best route.

Growing up in Parke County, Indiana, this was the first covered bridge I remember visiting. It is a very interesting bridge and has been destroyed and rebuilt a couple of times. It also has an old grist mill attached.

We got to the bridge and Mill about 10:30am on a Monday, and Kathy and I were the only visitors. The owner gave us a tour and told us of its history-fascinating! We really enjoyed, bought a couple things, including two pieces of homemade pumpkin roll, walked the rebuilt bridge, and went through the craft building, where they were getting ready for the Christmas doings that were to happen the next weekend.

Met owner of the mill Mike and he gave us the history of Bridgeton. We purchased some ground corn. It makes the best cornbread and other dishes. Don't miss the historical mill and bridge.
