Had the best restaurant grilled hamburger since I was a kid in high school when a hamburger patty was formed by the cook and the buns were grilled and the goal was for a fine tasting burger not to see how big they can make them or how fancy the label them. Burger came with potato chips! Fresh tomato, crisp lettuce, sweet onion, dill pickle and mayo. I ordered the cole slaw on the side and it was plain ground cabbage lightly seasoned and it tasted like heaven. I left room for dessert and ordered the peanut butter pie but it was greasy, heavy and not very flavorful so try something else for dessert. But do go, because the staff was friendly and the atmosphere comfortably hoosier.

This is a typical small town cafe where the locals gather and the waitress calls everyone by name. The food is good and so are the prices. My breakfast was good and the lunch and dinner menu looked good. Service was ok. The place could stand a thorough cleaning.

Stopped at Jack's on our way out of town and it did not disappoint. We tried the burgers and they were very good and tasted like something I could have gotten from the small town where I grew up. If you're in Rising Sun you should definitely give it a shot!

Friendly town workers recommended that we try Jack's, and we are glad we did. The food was good, and we would eat there again.

No frills, good food and plenty of it. Good service. Nice "local" place. Across the street from the Court House. May be the oldest one in the state. Nice shop down the street
