The food, service and atmosphere at Gallo’s are all very good but each fall just a bit short of excellent. While the atmosphere is nice, the main dining room is in an open, circular “bullpen” with a high ceiling which does not permit a cozy, intimate feeling that I like in many Italian restaurants. The service was prompt and adequate but could have been a bit more attentive. The food was very good with generous portions but not overly so. While there were no issues with the food, it just lacked the little extra that would have made it special. Cost is reasonable and very much in line with quality of the experience. Overall, Gallo’s provides a solid dining experience that I would recommend and one that I would not hesitate to experience again.
