We were on a trip back home from going to see the sandhill cranes near Medaryville, IN, and were looking for a place where we could have lunch. Denny's was on the route and we figured we could always get a salad. We were pleasantly surprised to find a veggie burger on the menu.
It can be ordered with a small bowl of fruit or raw veggies for dipping (but you should skip the sauce) on the side. While it's far from ideal (Calories: 500kcal | Fat: 15.00g | Carbs: 62.00g | Protein: 30.00g), it definitely beats the meat burger (Calories: 770kcal | Fat: 45.00g | Carbs: 56.00g | Protein: 39.00g), and comes with a rather thin whole wheat bun, which is actually a plus because it doesn't add a lot of bread to the sandwich. It still has a staggering amount of sodium. And let me add that these numbers, which from Denny's and various nutrition sites, may not be exactly correct because the patty and bun are not identified separately, so I can't be sure I have exactly the right item.
So while not the best, it beat the salad, as far as I am concerned.
