We like to stop here on our many trips to Lake Michigan, and it's a great place to take a break and run around outside around the many airplanes on a nice summer day. We had watched MEMPHIS BELLE shortly before one of our trips, and that made the kids even more interested in the WWII airplanes and artifacts in the museum. The people who work/volunteer there were very wonderful and knowledgeable. On one visit, we got to meet the man whose artifacts from his time as a POW in WWII Germany are on display in the museum. It was fascinating to talk to him, and he remembered a lot from his time there. (He was only a teenager when his plane was shot down.)This is one of those gems that you could easily miss.
