“Big taste in a small town.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2013

Fine dining in a restored old house in quaint Pendleton. The food was delicious, absolutely gourmet quality and the service was impeccable. Thirty miles northeast of downtown Indianapolis; off the beaten path, but worth the drive.

“Hidden Gem??”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

Pendleton, Indiana is a SMALL town about 20 miles NE of Indianapolis, just off of Interstate 69.
But.........Puzzles Restaurant, in Pendleton, is one not to miss. It is located just off the main east-west street in town in a nice house. Although an old home, it is nicely renovated.

BUT..........that is just the beginning..............not only is the menu creative, but the food presentation is also creative.

The menu sports entres like quail, duck, flat iron steak, pasta, fish, etc..................

We had the quail and flat iron steak.............both exceptionally well prepared (flat iron can be a 'thoghy')
and tasty. The quail came with brussels sprouts (not one of my favorites) that I could eat for every meal!!! There was a sauce that gave it a very good flavor with a little smokiness..........cooked just right.

The steak came with green beans, somewhat crispy, and very good. Also served with the steak was a bowl of grits with tomato............maybe tomato sauce or paste......VERY GOOD!!!

And, don't miss the wine list...........many good choices in many price ranges.
