Each Memorial Day Weekend my family and friends rent out PC’s family cabins. We have been doing this for the last 33 years. We play games, volleyball, bike ride and hike but mostly just hang out, eat, drink and get caught up with our family and friends. We have a memorial walk for those who have left us, a poker run, an ice cream social, movie in the park, kid games and so much more.
Potato Creek’s staff are the friendliest people. They are so happy to help out. We just love it there.

The park is very clean and beautiful. The lake is gorgeous and was a blast to kayak. While here I recommend checking the itinerary at the nature lodge. They had a brief class on owls when we went that was very informative.

The campsites are mostly flat with grass pad. Large and spaced out but maybe not enough trees for privacy but being Spaced out it was fine. Bathroom houses were clean and not even busy for a fully booked campground. They have a lake to swim but wasn’t officially opened yet. I did see a water moccasin swim through. Each loop has a park and shower house and then a new playground by the nature center which was fun for the kids. Everything is spaced out but we managed to walk to it all with a stroller. The camp store has many needed items and souvenirs. Overall everybody was friendly and the park was very clean and felt safe.

Thank you for the great review. Everything is open and happening now at Potato Creek State Park. BTW, that would have been a northern water snake you saw in the lake - harmless to humans but very helpful to the lake ecosystem. In addition to bike rentals, boat rentals, the fully stocked campstore and our beautiful beach, we also have a nature center, with free programs and hikes scheduled every day. Come back and see us soon!

We buy a annual park pass just because we visit this park the most. We hike, bike and enjoy water activities , so we find this park is perfect. Of course living 15 minutes from the park helps. We probably go here an average of once a week.

I visited the park for an early camping experience. We got variety of early season weather, including rain, sleet, snow and finally sun. The large campground has 30A only, but fresh water fill and dump stations are available. There are full bathhouse facilities, kids playground, campstore, nature center, ranger led events, paved bike trail, mountain bike trail, hiking, canoe rental, wildlife, fishing, and some historic stuff too. They even have rental cabins.
