“Gone down hill”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2013

Used to be a nice place to go to. The food is dreadful and overpriced. Have tried different menus over the years but keep getting it wrong.

“Nothing's changed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

This hotel wasn't too bad in the 2000's, but took a dive starting in the mid to late 2000's.
I used to go to the 'Ping' after work with work mates and would have a great time - drinks, dinner and even some entertainment downstairs. Now you don't see the number of people you used to. Had about 30~40 people in the pub while we were there between 6:50~8:30PM. Does it come alive later in the night? This review is a revisit of the venue in about 6 years for a meal, even though I live in the area.

Went with my wife for a couple of beers and some pub grub. I actually checked the menu before we went and ordered the Surf and Turf and Nachos. Surf and Turf wasn't bad overall but could have done with some attention to detail considering the $30 paid. Mash was lumpy, steak overcooked, asked for a medium rare and got a medium to well done, and there were 3 shelled prawns for surf. The bernaise that came with it basically smothered everything so it was difficult to actually taste the different components as well.

What can I say about the nachos? Mad Mex is definitely better and about half the price.
