This hotel has been my "go to" place when I am working in the area. The price can't be beat anywhere for the quality. The hotel is certainly out dated, but so clean you forget about that. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpfull. The only reason it didn't get a perfect rating from me is that there are no coffee makers in the room. For me this is important.

This place is a basketball fan's dream come true. A giant hi-top sneaker out front for selfies...and dozens of photos of Hoosier Steve Alford's career inside.

Oh yeah, it's a great comfy hotel too, haha. Our room was great with a fridge, sink and stove, and a couch and a easy chair. Really felt like home away from home.

Friendly staff too who welcomed us each and every time we came through the door.

New Castle is my hometown but I now live in Utah. Any trip home includes a stay at Steve Alford Inn. It is clean, inexpensive and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is also quite adequate. It is located just across the road from several restaurants and WalMart so it is very convenient. Even the locals tell folks this is the only place in town to stay.

This is an older property. You get what you pay for. Still have keys for the door and older well used towels. That being said the room was clean, good flat screen TV. Everything worked. The front desk people were pleasant. There is a Steak and Shake next door and there is a free continental breakfast. Overall for $55 a night I was satisfied.

Room tip: Stay on the backside away from highway noise.

We stayed 2 nights at the Steve Alford Inn...The clerk was very friendly when we arrived...quick check in...room a little small, but nice and clean...no frills, just a nice clean place rest on comfy beds...It would be nice if they had refrigerators in the rooms though.
