It was a glorious time to be in Brown County, with spring flowers and migrating birds everywhere. We stayed at the Homestead, which turned out to be very close to the northern state park entrance and only a short drive to Nashville, Indiana and its excellent shops and restaurants. This B + B is charmingly decorated and also very welcoming and comfortable--you don't feel like you're walking on eggs in a museum. Nancy and Manuel want you to relax and truly enjoy all the amenities they have so thoughtfully provided. Breakfast is delicious and more than generous in portions; you can spend the rest of the day roaming without another meal!

My wife and I had an outstanding time staying at the 1875 Homestead! Our room was spotless and the breakfasts were out of this world. Nancy and Manuel think of everything. We have stayed at B&Bs for over 25 years but have never been treated to live music until this visit - what a treat! We will be back!

We recently stayed again at the 1875 Homestead Inn. The music on Saturday night was great. As usual, Manuel and Nancy were wonderful hosts. Not only are Manuel and Nancy great Innkeepers, they are wonderful friends. We are looking forward to our next visit.

We just went two weeks ago (early March) and, as always, we had a great time! Manuel and Nancy are the best of hosts. They remember the little things: my husband can't have eggs so they accommodate, I don't like bacon so they don't serve me any, etc. They pay attention to details, are friendly and open, and offer great recommendations for local places to eat, drink, and shop. We have every intention of going every year for our getaway.

This is my second stay at this B&B and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place! The inn keepers are amazingly hospitable. The breakfasts are incredible and the rooms are decorated beautifully. Nancy and Manuel go out of their way to make your stay memorable, enjoyable, peaceful, and relaxing. They are great hosts!!! The rooms are all unique and spotlessly clean. The attention to detail in every room (sleeping rooms and main areas) is beyond impressive. There are wonderful touches of elegance, comfort, whimsy and charm everywhere you look. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the linens/bedding/towels are all high class luxury. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious. To be honest, I had hoped for repeats of the breakfasts I had on my first stay and though neither was repeated, the two I had this time were just as delicious!!! This is just a wonderful place to stay, you will feel like family and be treated like royalty.

What an incredible place! There really are not enough good things to say about the 1875 Bed and Breakfast! From ambience to location to comfort to warmth and attention to every detail, this architectural and atmospheric treasure is a constant source of amazement. My husband surprised us last Christmas with a mother/daughter get-a-way weekend from IU, Bloomington. It's taken us a year to get here for a much needed break from a stressful school year - so we were here at Christmas this year! It was like stepping into a Christmas movie! :) Our hosts were the best - welcoming and helpful, totally concerned with making our stay the retreat we needed. The food and presentaton was world class, the rooms were better than the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in, and the surrounding beauty is breathtaking. We are already planning for how to come back soon and bring our extended family.:) An incredible find!

Room Tip: Every room has its own personality and quaintness - we stayed in the Maple Leaf Room, with the Jacuz...
