Stayed here with my wife and son aged ten for 3 nights and we couldn't have asked for more.

Great location right on the river with your own butler.

The suite is very well appointed with two big tented bedrooms separated by a huge sitting/dining room. Flossie, Serena and Shane our guide were on hand whenever you needed them and the game drives and fishing on the Zambezi were great fun.

Would go back in a heartbeat.

Room tip: Be aware that being on the river you WILL hear the wildlife at night and that means loud hippos but this is why you go to Africa!

Highly recommend the Albida Suite which has spacious rooms, a comfortable lounge with an amazing view and with fantastic service from Watson and Steve, there's really nothing to complain about. Great guide team. Lower Zambezi is beautiful.

One of the best safaris of my life. The Chongwe River Camp is a lovely lovely resort in the Lower Zambezi. Wonderful staff, beautiful accommodations, great meals and an all round exceptional experience. Most highly recommended!

Although a long haul by car from Lusaka (about 4 hours), this well organized camp is worth a visit. It lies on the bank of a small river that feeds into the great Zambezi and has elephants, hippos, and other game both within site of the veranda and even on the premises. The staff are very friendly and tents stylish and comfortable. There are lots of options for activities including game drives (we saw a pride of 12 lions), fishing in the Zambezi, and canoeing. The food is excellent and service friendly. Well worth a visit but rather than drive, it is much easier to reach by a short flight from Lusaka.
