“Good coffee but don't do a bacon and egg breakfast”
Reviewed April 1, 2014 via mobile

We stopped in for breakfast before our drive to the dam, but we were disappointed we couldn't get basic bacon and eggs. Coffee was good and resorting to a berry muffin just for one of us (the other not having anything suitable on the menu to eat) it was not overly sweet or heavy but very nice. The waitress couldn't suggest anything helpful for our intolerances from the menu which is a shame as we would have spent more in this little country cafe.

“Great Coffee and Cakes”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

We stopped at this place after a little hike in Mount Field national park, it's funny to see how in these small towns in Tasmania there are always these little gems.

The coffee was great (they ask how strong you like it) and the cakes were even better.

If you're lucky there is even a platypus to be spotted!

“A great find”
Reviewed February 18, 2014 via mobile

We stopped here coming from Mount Field National Park. The setting by the river is lovely and the restaurant is so homely. We opted for mugs of coffee, scones with berry jam and a raspberry muffin. Coffee was fantastic and made just as we like it. The food simply finger licking good. So fresh and tasty. The lady taking our order brought some toys out to our 9 month old so he was entertained, a lovely touch. A great little find...

“Fantastic for morning or afternoon tea”
Reviewed February 12, 2014

Despite the off-putting mannequin sitting out the front, it's hard to drive past this appealing little cafe beside the river. Our main meals were average, but our desserts, all of which incorporated raspberries (we assume from the farm you can visit at the end of the street) in various delicious combinations, were magnificent. Coffees and teas were also excellent.

“Best coffee and magnificent cakes”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

I've eaten here many times last year, snatching coffees and cakes to keep me going whilst renovating a house nearby. The owners are lovely, the location is ideal and the coffee is brilliant (so is the huge selection of teas). Make sure you call in on your way to/from Russell Falls or beyond. The Possum Shed is open around 9.30 and closes late afternoon. Excellent lunches too. Can't fault this lovely cafe.
