Very popular, very busy place. Food is so-so. The Blue Gate is far superior.

The Food is outstanding and the staff is very nice. The pricing can be steep and the wait is long at times but very well worth it.

We live in North Central Indiana and enjoy making a day trip to Amish country near Lagrange County Indiana for the flea markets and the large auctions in Shipshewana. Since we always have to see everything at the auction it's a must to leave the house early and have breakfast at The Essenhous in Middlebury. The annoyance of getting up early is releaved by the delicious breakfast and interesting people and things I know I'll see in Amish Country. You'll have plenty of things to see and do, antique auctions, flea markets, and a chance to visit one of the few places in America where folks enjoy a simpler life.
