We very much enjoyed our stay at McKenzie House! The owners are wonderful! The property/rooms are extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The pool is a nice feature. Breakfast was so delicious. We plan to return in the future.

This was my first time at a B & B and it was a wonderful experience. Bruce and Sherry made us feel at home from the minute we arrived. McKenzie House is so tastefully decorated it actually has a calming effect. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was so very delicious and our hosts made us feel like we were family as we sat around the beautifully-set table eating with people we had never met before. We made use of the heating swimming pool, too. Thank you Bruce and Sherry.

Our trip to the McKenzie House Bed & Breakfast was a last minute decision in an effort to avoid camping in 100 degree weather. Many bad B&B stories were told to us from other B&B goers beforehand. Needless to say, we were scared! Our fears were relieved as soon as we arrived.

The McKensie House is immaculate and very well appointed with contemporary country-ish decor. The website pictures do not do it justice. The on-site hosts are very lovely people. The are super accomodating while not being too intrusive. My husband and I stayed in the Michelle room. Everything was comfy - included the luxurious pillowtop bed. Each suite or room has it's own bath which was wonderful. There are lots of common areas to relax: several porches, living room, dining room, basement rec area, and basement movie area. One of the major features that sold us was the pool. A large in-ground heated pool is available for all to use. Hot tub too. The breakfast is served family-style at 8:30am each morning. Simply fantastic! Scrambled eggs, muffins, baked oatmeal, fruit/yogurt, stuffed french toast, potatoes, juices served during our two-night stay. Extras to note on things provided that made the stay nice... beach towels, cold water bottles, snacks, coffee bar, hair dryer, two pillows, extra blankets, wifi, shampoo, body wash, bath robes, books everywhere, wine for sale, and tv/vcr/dvd in each room.

This is the perfect place to stay while visiting the Middlebury/Shipshewana area. We highly recommend!

This was the best B&B we have personally stayed at, and it is our pleasure to write a positive review! They have several rooms that accommodate various needs, for us, the nicolle suite with 3 separate rooms was perfect for our 2 small children. (just look for and remove the complimentary bowls of chocolate before your 2 your old finds it!) The room was VERY clean, and the air conditioning was an unexpected surprise during a week with unprecedented temperatures and humidity. Everything and more that you would need in a room was included, they have thought of everything. There is plenty of things to do, a library of movies and games, and a heated swimming pool which we unfortunately did not have time to enjoy and a deck off your room for enjoying a quiet moment, which we took complete advantage of. The breakfast was incredible, there was so much there we did not know where to start. However, should you decide to book a stay with Bruce and Sherry, make sure you ask Sherry to make her cinnamon rolls. They were the best!!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: For families, the nicolle suite was such a life saver. It was the best accommodations for us during...

Sherry and Bruce are truly gracious hosts and reallly understand how to run a B&B. The abundance of common areas was amazing, tv room, music room, scrapbooking room, screened in porch . . . The homemade breakfast can't be beat! There's something for everyone and it's all fresh and delicious! This will be a place we stay at again and again!

We found the McKenzie House on a website, and were delighted when we arrived to see how lovely the yard and home were. We were greeted warmly by both hosts, Bruce and Sherry, given a tour of the house, and led to our 3 bedroom suite on the upper floor. It is rare to find a B & B with 3 bedrooms allowing 3 girlfriends to stay together but still have privacy. The place was spotless (she even irons the sheets), and the food was plentiful and unbelievable! Her homemade pastries were incredible as was the cream cheese stuffed french toast. They also have a pool and hot tub that we wished we could have used, but weather did not permit. I can honestly say that this is one of the best B & Bs I have ever stayed at and I highly recommend it.
