I stumbled upon the Shady Creek Winery by luck and my GPS. Well worth the ride if you are any where near the area. The staff and owners are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their products. I really enjoyed the "Rescued Dog Red" and purchased several bottles for gifts and myself. Don't forget to try the chips and snacks available from their kitchen.

If you're in the area of New Buffalo or Michigan City this is a beautiful little spot to visit, right between the two. Large, open area, friendly and knowledgeable people (one of the owners was there to chat with us), artwork for purchase and snacks.

Shady Creek is tucked away in a beautiful wooded setting near Lake Michigan. The family that owns this winery takes pride in the selection of premium wines and their realtionship with their patrons. The tasting room is very inviting with the spacious main level acompanied by a large tasting bar and a cozy fireplace nearby. There is a loft area that is perfect for group gatherings. A nice enclosed porch with a view of the pond is located behind the tasting room. This is the perfect place to get away, relax, and enjoy a nice glass of wine. It's always exciting to find out what they are planning to bottle for the new season.

We had a 2nd wedding reception for our Indiana friends and family at Shady Creek Winery a week ago and we could not have been more pleased! The owners are wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable and went out of their way to make our experience special! They have a wonderful variety of wines to choose from including a fabulous Syrah. This place is a gem and is not to be missed. Confused by another reviewer saying all sweet wines. That is not at all true! They have some excellent dry wines. Love being able to enjoy specially created tasting plates as well!

Wines are still on the lower end of the pallet...too sweet. We understand the American pallet is still getting on board with the rest of the world. But seriously, do we have to add THAT much sugar to every bottle of wine? The customer service was great, but considering the wine was brought in from another location, it takes away from the whole winery tour experience...especially when you're drinking fruit juice.

Shady Creek Winery has a selection of dry wines and semi-sweet wines produced mostly from local grapes. The winery offers an extensive list of 5 dry reds, 2 dry whites and 6 semi-sweet wines, perhaps this reviewer only saw the semi-sweet list for some reason.
