Description: Enter the Smelly Gourmet and you'll probably be greeted by Smelly Himself (aka Steve) with his big white beard and top hat. All your senses will be instantly triggered and you'll know where the "Smelly" in the Smelly Gourmet comes from. First, titillate your taste buds with our European Coffee Bar and a sample of our Family Grown Hull-less popcorn. Step out of the box with one of 12 grilled cheese Panini sandwiches made with our secret recipe bread and homemade Smelly chips served on 1940's fine china. From a classic to a Reuben you're sure to find many you'll love. Roam around the shop and your smell-a-meter will trip with all the yummy bath and body product made by Brenda (aka the Head Stinker). You'll also see many unusual items like "Smellys" Geek Clocks and magnets, hand painted furniture and so much more. Housed in an 1845 Federal Style house you will feel right at home with Smelly and the Head Stinker. The goal is for everyone that enters the door will leave feeling like they had a wonderful experience. Spend the night or weekend in The Banes Suite, our luxury suite for two. “Worth the drive”

My sister and I drove 3hours to visit Metamora. We decided to eat lunch at the Smelly Gourmet. It was a very good experience. The Panini's were out of this world and the coffee and chai was just as good. If we lived closer, this would be the place to go more often. Very good customer service. Thanks

“A Metamora Delight!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2014

The Smelly Gourmet is indeed "smelly".....fragrant with fresh popped corn, lovely scented candles and delicious cooking odours. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch....excellent grilled cheese sandwiches. This restaurant is charming and inviting.......just like the whole town of Metamora!

“The reason I'll return to Metamora”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2014

We live about an hour from Metamora and decided to grab a panini while strolling through the town. A panini turned into dinner, after-dinner coffees, and food to take home. Simply put, our meals were delicious. Homemade bread, homemade chips, and incredibly friendly service - unique, right down to the china our meals were served on. I had the 'classic' cheese and pickle panini while my husband ordered the smoked sausage - both were superb. We also tried a cappuccino (YUM) and hot cider - and a special bag of the homemade chips to take home! Everything tasted great, and we had a nice, friendly chat with the owner. Couldn't ask for a better experience - we're already planning our next hour-long drive to try a new panini. Check this place out!

“Cozy place to shop as well as enjoy a relaxing meal. The Cappuchino tastes like the ones I remember from Italy!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2014 via mobile

Stopped here on a whim, glad we did! This is a cozy home with the lower floor open as a Gourmet Deli/Coffee Bar. The gourmet popcorn was wonderful and a nice bonus that it has no hulls! The Vanilla Ice Coffee and Cappuchino were wonderful as well as the Ruben Panini. I really enjoyed the Natural Shey Butter balm and beautifully scented lotions! The owners were such genuine and sweet people, I like that. We will most definately go back, even if we do have to drive a couple hours to get there.
